Dear GM,

Drop in an LS1/2 (like Mallett). Beef up the brakes and tires. Keep it under 40K. Then i'll seriously consider one.

You still don't get it,

I personally don't think the S2000 is washing away, I think now its when its becoming more popular and as days go by it becomes more popular. To this date there are so may people that do not know about the S2000 and once they find out about it they just can't forget it about it. I think that is what makes the S2000 so special and wanted.

They might not be selling as much as before or have they? Anyone can gather the sales numbers for the S2000 and see if sells have dropped or increased and what year was themost sold? Thanks.
Agreed, Im still thinking aobut trading my car in and getting an S2000 for the garage and beater for work. I'd be looking at a 2002 though.

This probably has more to do with it becoming available to a wider (read younger) audience. The first few years, it was an expensive second or third car. It sold at or near MSRP, and insurance was fairly high. Now you can find reasonably well maintained examples for 12-15 thousand dollars, and insurance on a $12k, six or seven year old car just isn't going to be that much.

I've seen worse interiors, but the seats on those cars are just awful - no lateral support at all. You would think that at least the GXP/Redline version might get some improved seat bolstering, but sadly - No.

The Solstice/Sky chassis and tuning is phenomenal however. And the GXP/Redline drivetrain is downright awesome. The turbo 2.0l has an amazing powerband, very torquey from anywhere north of 2000rpm. The stock class Solstice GXP that I have autoXed feels even torquier than my Evo 9. And the amounts of tire you can cram under that chassis is ridiculous - 305mm width front and rear on the factory 8" wide wheels, and they still don't even come close to rubbing anything.

I have not being in the Redline (which I prefer out of the two just for cosmetic reasons) but the GXP I drove did not feel like anything close to the S2000, although I do agree on the torque feel. The drivetrain overall is ages behind the S2000. Just my opinion but you should know a little more since you got to really push it.
