how tall u have to be to ride a bike?

I'm 5'6" and I had no problems on the CBR600F3 or F4. I can put me feet flat on the ground at a stop light and the CBR ergonomics were very comfy for me in street riding.
Unfortunately, I could not get comfy. on the R6. The saddle height is just a tad too tall for me to put both feet down. Don't be discouraged though. You can buy an aftermarket saddle (Corbin comes to mind) which can drop the seat height quite a bit. IMO, the R6 ergo's weren't the best for me. Now, if I were actualy going to track the bike that might be different.

Technically, you're supposed to ride a bike that you can plant both feet on the ground with when you're sitting on it in riding position. It's safer that way. However, someone has mentioned that they make aftermarket seats that lower the seating position and also you can lower your bike (though this latter mod may change some bike characteristics and sometimes, isn't recommended).

It all depends on your inseams... or how long your legs are. I have a friend who is 5'9" and I swear he has the shortest legs in the world, his body is so out of proportion haha... and he definitely has trouble putting his feet down on the bike. So even if you're a bit short, you can still ride a bike. It's true that the best thing is to have both feet down, but many people also just put one foot down (usually the left foot, with right on the rear brake and the bike in 1st gear for emergency manuevers) and you will see alot of short people hanging off one side of the bike by doing this. This is fine too once you get the hang of it, so don't let size be a major restraint on riding... there are many many ways to compensate for it.

I am 5'5" and I feel comfortable on an R6. The SV650 has a lower seat height and I can easily get both feet down.
I previously had a Ducati 748 and did not have any problems with this either.

I'm so close to getting a bike! But there's always the fear of falling off.
i'm 5'6 and i tried getting on a CBR F4i at a local bike show, it felt uncomfortable cause i was tippy-toeing. I can't picture my-self doing this if i were to be stuck in traffic or even worse stuck in traffic going uphill!
Somebody mentioned something about a thinner seat? By any chance is there any more details about this? Make or model in particular? What about the susp. can it be softened up? So when i sit on a bike, it would sink down a bit?? Do riding boots help? Thanks in advance!
