Two Elises I had have been totalled by someone else. Wrapped around a tree etc. The tub is extremely strong and both times the driver escaped with minor scratches, while the car was totally distroyed (not just a crack in a clam, which cost $8.5K and not $20K)
On the other hand, freeway driving should be avoided and defensive driving in an exotic (read low car) is a must anyway.
