Was that directed at me?
I guess we're all supposed to sit back and listen to the great wisdom of JoeD and his constant downplay of all that is not Mercedes Benz... because God knows that it is the epitome of what a fine automobile should be <sarcasm>
It's fine to have an opinion about someone elses automobile but to constantly make insulting and belittling comments... please.. My comment above was only in response to the childish 'mine is better than yours' that characterize his almost every reply. I too am a spoiled kid, and I am not "hating" on anyone that borrows dads key's (it is fun)... just "hating" on the attitude........
If it is such a fine automobile why choose to populate a Honda message board and constantly make jabs?
Anyways back on topic..... I test drove a Civic Si and was impressed at the amount of torque the car had... I would imagine that with some weight reduction that the car would be very quick.
Isn't the RSX-S engine almost a direct swap in that car? I seem to remember their being a sport compact car article where they did this swap and essentially had the configuration of the Civic type-r

The RSX-S engine swap isn't too hard. You can also swap the heads between the two. Or for the ultimate monster, some people on ephatch.com are getting the bottom end from either a CRV, an Accord(4cyl), or a TSX, and mating it to a Type-S Head to make a 2.4L with good head flow characteristics. The Si has much potential. At stock, they suck. They have granny tires, weigh quite a bit, and have the ride height of a Jeep. I took the spare and tools out of my Si and it made a world of a difference.

Even though they 'suck' according to some I managed to scare the piss out of the guy letting me have a test drive
I just cannot believe that little car weighs in at 2700 lbs... why the lead bricks Honda? I wonder how much it weighs stripped down?

Just wondered why the rolleyes at me. My first response was not directed at you.... at all.. The second response was not criticizing your attitude either, just asking why the rolleyes...??
Oh well......
S2K1: So what would it take to get you to strip the ol si down and throw an RSX-S engine under the hood? Common... you know you wanna.
