How do most s2000 owners view the hardtop Miata?
Don’t get me wrong I’m a diehard Honda and s2000 fan as I’ve owned 3 of these cars now and shopping for my fourth!
However during lunch today I went out with a buyer and he took me for a spin in his new Miata…I was stunned how nice it looks and it’s got a retractable hardtop too! Interior and exterior looks modern, fresh thought I’m not sure how much aftermarket support it has.
My question is for you current s2000 owners, what is your take on the Miata? Is it comparable in speed and performance?
Comfort wise the new Miata definitely looks more modern with Bluetooth, NAVI, etc but how does it stack up overall to the s2000? I’d love to hear your thoughts…….

I think for an everyday car it fits most peoples' needs better. But I would never want one. I'm not a fan of the way it looks and I wasn't too impressed with its number. The only thing I do like is the hardtop.

I like it a lot. I could definately see myself owning one someday. I don't much care for older Miatas, but I do like the styling of the newer models. The retractable hard top is very cool indeed.

The only thing I prefer with the MX5 is the hardtop. Oh, and the brown leather.

Always been a Miata fan (had a '93). I still feel it is underpowered compared to the S, but it is still a very competent performer, and with all the current creature comforts would be a really nice car to own.
