Default How Is The 240SX As A Track Car?

Sup guys...

I'm going to be acquiring a '93 240sx fastback from a friend of mine for only $500. The car is in perfect condition. I was originally going to use this as a daily beater, but am now starting to wonder if it should become a project car. What are your opinions on this? Is the fastback version better on the track/autocross, or the coupe version? Or is this car only good for drifting?

If it does become a race car, then I will be dropping a SR20DET engine in it, and modifying it. So power will be no problem. Suspension upgrades will also be added.

Please post your input, any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that last year in the SCCA - C FL region - a 240SX took the title.. Lots of money to make it competitive in its class..

A person I work with has a modified 240SX with the blue bird engine and he LOVES it. I'm actually thinking of also doing this conversion, just waiting to find a deal like yours.

I think they are great cars to try and race out. If you drop in a SR20DET from Japan's Silvia. The S14 silvia SR20DET comes stock with 220hp and 203 ft./lbs. of torque, it comes stock with a turbo that can boost it to around 250-260hp. A really good website to find stuff for it is

www.SRSWAPS.com
