I am not sure if it hit the newsstand yet, but I received the April issue of Road and Track...and there is a section with a sneak preview of Japanese sports cars.

Seems like Honda might come out with a new Acura NSX, and the XGA to replace the s2000.

Here is the first paragraph in the article:

"The internal name give to the s2000's replacement is XGA. We had thought all along that the XGA would be a 4-door sports car showcasing Honda's SH-AWD system used in the RL and its advanced hybrid technology ( remember the dual note concept car? ). Well, now we're hearing the company is leaning towards producing a coupe based on the RL platform, but equipping it with either the v-8 or v-10 for the NSX replacement."

This should be very interesting...

Yeah, what I'd been hearing was more of an NSX replacement and then an upgrade/replacement of the S2000

Looks like an 8 year S2000 run - very respectable. There are many niche cars that get pulled after 2 or 3 years. As a previous poster said, Honda has a method of sending great cars to retirement, but they never completely leave something sporty out of the lineup.

Sounds more like a CL replacement. The S2000 isn't going to be "replaced" by a vehicle that is completely different. If anything, it'll be phased out and a brand new, unrelated vehicle will takes its place.
