Honda Super Hawk 996 - Semi New Rider - Should I get it?
I had a enduro dirt/street bike about a year ago and I want a sportbike. I found a 99 Honda 996 SuperHawk that had been dropped for $3500. I know its a deal, but do you think it would be too much power to re-learn street driving. I only had the other enduro bike for about 6 months, so I don't have a hell of a lot of experience. What do you guys think?

too much bike to begin with. start low and work up.
2 major causes of accidents, getting hit from behind and someone turning left in front of you.
knowing how to handle the bike that you get can save your life, it has to be with in your limit.
is that with in your limit? that is no Euro.

I had a SuperHawk for my first street bike and survived it w/ no crashes, just a couple of bone-headed moves where I got lucky. I'll be hypocritical by suggesting an SV650 as a better next bike.
Great bike w/ gobs of torque, but easy to ride and hard not to become a wheelie fiend on it. You're ability to handle it depends largely on the amt. of discipline in your right hand.
