I'll believe this when I see it.
Don't know how a 1 liter engine can move a car meeting US safety specs.
Basically I think its very difficult to build a car lighter than the S2000 ( 2850Lbs) without very, very expensive composites/carbon fiber.
Of course Honda engineers are smarter than I am.

It looks 1000 times better than the old Honda Beat did (which was designed by Pininfarina by the way), while still resembling it quite closely. I don't have a problem with it except for those f@#k ugly wheels. It still resembles the old Honda Beat in many ways though, which is a good sign for a future S2000. I think it is a very good sign actually, they they really have remade the Honda Beat.
Maybe Honda is going to remake every sports car they have ever made? Starting with the Honda Beat and NSX like they did in the past?

Also bear in mind this car weighs 830kg, if the 1 litre engine produced 90 kw (Ford's Ecoboost 1 litre engine makes 92 kw) and 200nm of torque (again Ford's engine does this) then I suspect it would dust an 86 in a straight line. Not that that is particularly fast but it might not be a snail.

I think a lot of people don't understand that the engine output is developed to be able to classify as a Kei car, which is you guessed it, 660cc and 63hp.
The fact that they have made a modern version that is only 155lbs heavier in 2015 is kind of amazing.

Honda S660 Modulo Photos Leaked
From the article:
The white prototype with stripes is a S660 Modulo, essentially the Honda equivalent of Nismo. This body kit enhances the sporty appearance of the car even further. And get this: it even has a pop-up rear wing.

The copen doesn't look to bad. Did they change the restrictions from 1.3L to 660cc? The 2002-2012 model had a turbo 1.3L 4 cylinder 86hp & 89TQ.
It looks like the 2002-2012 model had a different engines for different markets. The Japanese market had a 660cc engine while the European,South African, Taiwan, and Hong Kong markets had a 1.3L engine.
Given the light weight of these cars they may be pretty fun especially if you could get a 1.3L turbo and mod it to 150-200hp.
