They don't have to get bad mileage. A Ranger, for example, gets 24 city, 29 highway. Some people just like to sit up when they drive.
He said truck.

I think the idea of driving a truck every day is pretty silly.
So is a roadster.

I think the idea of driving a truck every day is pretty silly. OF course there are exceptions like if you work in construction or something. A truck is for doing work. They are big, get bad mileage, are heavy and are unsafe for people around you. The honda is no different compared to accords, civics etc. If I needed a truck I wouldn't get a new truck and I would use it when I needed it.
Then call me silly...I'd rather drive, and put wear on, my truck everyday than my S2000. My S2000 has 29K miles and still looks great...it should stay that way for a long time by garaging it ex. for fun runs.

why? cuz it gets good gas mileage, is safe for other people, and doesn't pollute much?

I'd take one. I was hoping to trade in the wife's Sport Trac for one, but not yet.

Funny how so many people, who do no towing, are experts.

I've towed probably 15,000 miles over the past 2 years with the MDX & Pilot to race tracks all over the midwest and east cost. Weight was between 3800-4200lbs (depending on which car). It's rated for 3500lbs or 4500 for boats (less aero drag). It tows very well. What you cannot do is tow that amount and have 4 passengers and have the cargo area full of stuff. You should see some of the surprised looks we get passing other "trucks" going uphill grades.

2 passengers + cargo + open race trailer at max towing capactity = no problem.

The Ridgeline has been beefed up significantly from Pilot/MDX, not to mention it has a exclusive transmission.

The IRS (like on Pilot/MDX/Ridgeline) provides a significantly more stable vehicle when towing than a live axle truck. I've also towed with a GMC 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Excursion. At these weights, I rather tow with a Pilot/MDX, with the exception of the Excusion. The Excursion diesel is towing GOD but that is not a MDX/Pilot/Ridgeline market competitor so why make comparison to it or any other heavy duty truck.

If the amount your towing is within the tow rating you will have no problems. Please don't hypothosize something to death in which you have no experience yet.

(edit: spelling)
well said

I would buy one if I needed an SUT/truck to transport some household stuff.

Not only that, many trucks get better mileage than our little roadster (especially if said roadster is driven the way it was meant to be). The Mazda B2300 gets 24/29
Like I said, most people have very little to carry to work or to the store. I can get 8-9 bags of groceries in it and we have an odessey if we need to pick up something large. Again, if I needed a truck for something I would get a cheap older one. They are utilitarian vehicles. I am not even sure I consider the B2300 and Ranger trucks either. The B2300 tops out at 18k and is very small compared to a Silverado, F150, or Ridgeline. I thought we were talking about full sized trucks here. Most full size trucks I see around here are carrying one person with nothing in the bed.
