After many passed experiences im over it, there is times a i have about a 12pack or so lol and reminisce and even considering doing a bad ass build. But when i wake up the next day sober i think to myself good thing i was under the influence because spending all the money in the world it will still always be a civic or integra. After all that money spent on it i would still be upside down on it. The only way i can justify spending all that money was if they were the real deal ef9/8 eg6 ek9 or dc2 rhd from japan to really make them special.

I couldn't help myself. I always wanted a civic hatch but never owned one. What I really wanted was something that would be fun to daily drive, but also relatively quick. This doesn't describe a hatch at all, but honda does have the drivetrain for it, just in the wrong car (Think Acura RL/TL AWD w manual 6 speed). I always thought an AWD V6 EG hatch would be a blast so I build one:

Right now it is just front wheel drive to sort everything out, but it turns out it is really fun and a blast to drive (pulled on my buddies stock 97 supra TT). I will be tearing it back apart in 3 weeks to start on the SH-AWD. It will basically be a new Ford Focus RS except V6 with a super sophisticated AWD. Hope it works. :-)

Never owned one myself. When i was younger i did want a k20 hatch though.
I ended up getting an 06 Civic si and drove that for some time. That car ended up totaled. Bought it back from insurance and sold the motor to a friend of mine for a good deal. It is now in his EG hatch that he is building for the track.
It is a fun little car. I get to drive it when i want to so my desire of k20 hatch is filled that way.

I think many of us miss them mainly for the memories with them. We grew up building them and had perhaps the most youthful fun times with them; times we will cherish and miss.
I miss my old Integra dearly.

I still love my '92 GS-R and drive it around 7-8000 miles a year. I suppose a lot of people have gotten soft over the years and would dread going back to a car with very few amenities but I really don't care. Stereo, power windows, power sunroof, hydraulic steering and a 5 speed manual. All I need. Hell, I haven't had working interior ventilation since March and that's not even a big deal (though I shall remedy this before winter arrives). Even drove the Teg round trip to NJ a few months ago (1000 mile journey).
It's an utter joy to fling this 2600 lb hatchback around town and to zing the engine up to 8000 rpm, all the while still getting 30 mpg in city driving. Nice contrasting change of pace from the Cayman
If only Honda/Acura still offered something similar. But they haven't, for going on 10 years at this point
