This is in general true of all auto enthusiasts who think companies like Honda are in business to sell 100K S2000's and ignore the 10,000,000 Accords they sold in that same time.

It makes sense to you because you're dumb, and Honda is not financially dumb like you. Honda doesn't wanna invest more money into creating a more powerful Fit so that it can compete with sales of the Civic Si and Accord Coupe. Why dump millions into creating such a financially unsound car? That's why you're just a simpleton who's not running Honda, thankfully. Maybe simpletons like you are the reason GM went into bankruptcy and required $60 billion of taxpayers' money.
Honda wouldn't be out very much money at all giving the Fit another engine option. A 205hp would cut into the Civics Si's profit share, that I'll give you (but one can dream). However, the 160hp Kmotor wouldn't and it'd be a lot of fun for the fringe like us. Where Honda has wasted "millions and millions" is by trying to be a carbon copy of Toyota and chasing down their ideas. Where Honda spends money is developing completely new vehicles. (Insight, Crosstour, CR-Z) not by offering an engine they already essentially have as an option.
Do you feel better getting that quip in about GM, even though it had nothing to do with the conversation? Hope so, simpleton.

Last time I checked this was an enthusiast's website, not a 'lets talk sales figures and profit margins' website. So I find it pretty funny that you'd come on here and belittle someone for being an enthusiast. But if that's what gets your motor running, so be it.
On that note: Other then producing 100K S2000's and a few thousand NSX's... Honda has never made any other real sports cars (maybe the S600).
It just happened that a large set of people at one point decided that their FWD econobox models would be their enthusiast car.
Now, I've owned 13 Hondas/Acuras and only 3 were sports cars and the other 10 were nothing more then damn good (better then the rest in their class) cars.

Last time I checked it was a Honda site under a general "car talk" section talking about a Honda Fit that is nothing even remotely considered an enthusiast car nor does Honda even produce one right now.

Regardless of how you feel about a real SI fit or not, this trim and wheels version is pretty pathetic. Why even bother?
