Honda Fit
I keep driving my S into the ground with my retarded driving habits and fiddling with the engine. So i need to get something to drive while i fix the S. I have looked at everything from IS300s to TLs to 135i's. I know that if i get anything that is over 200hp I will not leave it alone and will end up going FI and driving it like a mad man to. So i think a Honda fit would be good for me.
Anyways, do any of you have a Fit? What are your thoughts on it. Is it big enough in the back seat for a six foot tall guy? Is it comfortable to drive long distances in? I know the gas milage is good. And have you had any problems that i should be worried about for when/if I buy one. It will be an 08 or newer. And it will have to be a 5speed! Thanks goes out to any input. Peace.

Test drive it. Personally, I didn't like it. The fit does two things very well... it's fun, and practical. Otherwise, its not so great.
If fun or cargo volume are priorities it'd be hard to beat the Fit. You can stuff an unbelievable amount of crap into a Fit, especially the 2nd gen, and aside from the Mini I don't think anything compares on the fun factor. On the other hand, for the price you'd be hard pressed to find a less refined car than the Fit. Maybe the Cobalt.
I ended up with a Mazda3 after driving just about everything in the class. But then, I was buying a car to do a 100 mile daily commute on the freeway. That isn't where the Fit shines. And you may have a greater tolerance for the buzzy engine, solid axle suspension, and goofy looks than I did.
If it were my money, I'd hold off for the Ford Fiesta.

For under 20K, i think the new Fits have a great role as a daily driver type vehicle. I recently had use of a new 09 Fit Sport for a few days and came away thoroughly impressed. Yes the engine might be a bit buzzy, but the car had a pretty solid feel overall, light on its feet yet still pretty planted on the highway. I had an automatic, but I would imagine the manual would be even more fun. I'm 6 feet tall and I had no problems with the size of the car, front or back seat. I used it for a couple 30-50 mile trips and it was perfectly comfortable.

well after looking into it more, the Fit i am looking for is going to cost 19,700 new. So i might as well get a FD2 civic Si. Four doors with pep. And a lot better styling. My roommate has a 2009 FG2. So i already know how fun they are. Thanks for all the inputs.
