Default Honda Fit

Hey guys,

My dad is looking at Honda Fits, and I would kind of like to have one in the family to play around with, put some mods into, etc. Does anyone have any personal experience with Fits? Any owners out there? Please share what you guys will on this car!! I think it's pretty cool, and he just needs an around town car, so I want to get him a Fit and slam it on some nice wheels haha.

I really wanted to like the Fit but I wasn't so impressed after the test drive.

First, the good. The car is definitely nimble and agile and it's a pretty fun car to drive. It's not fast but it's just a kind of point-and-shoot type of car. Lots of room on the inside, decent seats, good steering, great fit and finish, and it looks pretty good in the Sport model (needs 16" wheels, though). Grip is decent and brakes are fine (not great, not bad, just okay). Interior is great (especially for that class) and the hatch gives lots of storage room.

Now, the bad. I felt the car was somewhat unrefined. It had a lot of road/tire and wind noise even at slower speeds. The car revs pretty high at highway speeds and that's not really a good trait for a daily driver/commuting car. Despite the obviously good build quality, I still felt the car was "cheap". A Civic or Accord is much more refined, inside, than the Fit.

To be fair, I have not driven any other micro cars as a comparison, so perhaps I set my expectations too high. Still, with Fits going for MSRP and Civics (and Accords) being discounted regularly, I'd step up to one of them. For $1000 to $2000 more you can get a Civic or an Accord and those vehicles would be my obvious choice for a daily driver.

I own a fit.

I traded my S in on a silver sport AT. I love it.

I traded my S in because payments, and gas mileage were killing me. Plus as an 01, it was about to crank over to the 100k mark, and I didnt want to get upside down on it.

The fit is perfect for what I need. more space, good gas mileage, and it's fun.

but ITS NOT A RACECAR! some people like to think it is, or will be. mods dont hardly do jack on this car, and no one has made a good FI kit for it yet.

thats why you buy a fit, and a motorcycle
