HONDA FIT
Hi guys I am thinking about getting the new FIT for my beater. I will be driving it to work everyday. My only concern is how this car will do in the winter. Any of you guys have experience with this car in the snow?

Yeah, I drove one through Antarctica last winter. Put some sled tracks on it and this dog will hunt. Speaking of dogs, I scared the Siberian Husky sled dogs as I went motoring past on several occasions.

The car, like all FWD cars, should do fine in the winter. If you put good all season tires on it, it'll handle cold and slightly slippery streets just fine. If you have snow, put a set of dedicated snow tires on it and you'll be okay.
I lived in Eastern Canada most of my life so I know that if you use dedicated snow tires, you can actually drive in pretty bad winter conditions.

Should be F I N E. it's a modest hp fwd with narrow tires, three things that go great with snow.
I'm not sure how much snow you plan on. But I put snow tires on 3 out of 4 of my cars now. The thing I like now is what is called 'high-performance snow tires' which are made of a special compound and tread configuration so they do better than all season tires in snow and when it's dry they behave a lot like good all season tires. In other words you don't give up a lot of dry road grip but get a good bit of snow grip.
IMO the FIT is best with a MT to best use it's meger power.
