Thumbs up Honda CBR 600RR '05

Im in the middle of a transaction to get this bike...

Im buying the bike on Ebay. The owner moved to England and took the bike with him. He has the Clean Title on his hand and will send with a bill of sale too. He says he will take care of the shipping. Im buying the bike for $3400. Im using Ebay Square Trade Motors to secure and insure the transaction, they will hold the money until I get the bike and give them an ok that everything is fine, then they will give the money to the seller. This is the first time I will do soemthing like this so Im kind of nervous. I have to send the money through Western Union to the Ebay Square Agent in London. I think It should be ok but I just wanted to hear the opinion of someone with the experience on this things.

Thanx

The price is too good to be true... When my house mate was looking for a bike, he encountered alot of these people who claimed to moved overseas with their bike and wanted to ship it back to the buyer in the US. These kind of scams are all over recycler.com and other sites...I would be hesitant to complete the transaction because theres probably some angle that have been overlooked where you could be scam and loose all your money. Also when you buy online you dont know the condition of the bike. For all you know you may have purchased a beat up salvaged bike with no engine. I think you are better off using the $3400 towards a bike locally.

just my thoughts, but its your call...

I did an extensive research and you were right. Thanx a lot. I can't believe people this days. How can they be tracked down and beat down to a bloody gulp?

They guys are good. They have Square Trade info and fake E-Mails and the whole nine yeards. They are pretty good. Im glad I don't jump into things and start asking and reading. Those mofos probably have ripped off a few people. They need to get caught.

Scam. They do it all the time. 2005 600RR's can be had used for $6200-6800. I got my '06 New for $7700. There are dealers selling new ones for $7899. Crotch Rockets are Dime a Dozen, and depreciate rapidly - you can always score a good deal.

These scams are getting so common now. Someone tried to scam me for an R6 couple years back. He actually had the nerve to say he lived in NY, and E-mailed me a copy of a Boat pink slip from florida. He said he had moved to Europe too. Then he sent me a chashiers check for 7000, and wanted me to send the rest back to him. The cashiers check was fraudulent, of course.

If any of you would like to witness how these scams work, just post anything for sale in Recyler. A Tv, refrigerator, car, mortorcycle...You'll get 5-10 E-mails immediately telling you that they're going to send you a large payment to cover shippiing and handling, and to western union the rest back to them, or send money orders back to them. I've personally seen a lot of elderly men get scammed for a chunk of their life savings.

Watch Out!
