Have you seen one in person yet (especially a dark one)?
I make no promises I'll change my mind.

I think it'll mitigate some of your reservations/absolute loathing.
I definitely thought it wasn't that great in pictures but it has grown on me (much like the Acura TL in real life, in darker colors) and it definitely makes the prior version look plain.

I dont think its that bad. The more I look at the pictures the more I like it. Seeing one in person will probably reinforce that. You need to look at smaller angles, then take in the whole picture. Honda's designs have always been like that. And, guess what? They will sell millions of these regardless of how ugly a few people think they may be.

I think the dropped line in the rear window was to offer better sight out of the 3rd passenger row windows and for a new "attractive and different" design detail to make odyssey look different than other minivans.
UgLY!

If they just got rid of the chrome trim around the windows and changed the shape of the rear quarter window then I think the hearse look would go away.
In all seriousness, I conducted an experiment where I put a piece of paper over my monitor so that all you could see was the rear quarter and asked a few co workers to tell me what they were looking at. Guess what, they all said it was a hearse.
I agree with Jonboy in that minivans are hard to make pretty but goddamn it seriously looks like a hearse.

Here you go.
No one's questioning the functionality, performance or any other trait of this new Odyssey. All we are saying is it's ugly. Oh, and we had 04 Odyssey, I know how great they are, but they don't need to be ugly.

As for the new Odyssey, now that's undoubtedly a fresh design and again, I'm liking it.

This thread is stoooooopid. If I'm taking minivan opinions from a childless person that drives a convertible that would make me about as useless as this thread.
P.S. Many people on here have kids, and some have shopped for and owned minivans.
P.P.S. People are mainly talking about looks, so anyone can have an opinion. You can ignore...
P.P.S. All that said, yes, it's a low-value thread
