the "type s" badge, found on JDM accords, integras(rsx) means "sport". basically, i loaded type r. think nsx-s(JDM only). motors are not the same, some suspension bits are shared, typically type r's have exlusive suspension and motor tuning.

"type R" found on, JDM civic, integra, nsx, means racing. only type R machine ever to make it to us, was the acura integra type r.

there is an euro R accord, was on EDM, but no available in japan. japan only gets accord type s.

Type RR = Race Ready (they have had Integra Type RRs and the new Civic has a Type RR edition too in Japan)
Type R = Race
Type S = Sport
Type SH = super handling (the old Preludes used to be four-wheel steering).
Type Z (in the Phillipines) = a medley of different cars (Civic Type Z was made from parts of different Civic generations)

Simple, type-R(acing) for Honda is the raciest version of the car, and type-S(ports) is the sportier version than the normal.
