Default Helmet sizing question

I have a Large Shoei Helmet, I came to the conclusion I should have bought a medium. Is it true that I can simply replace the interior padding of the helmet for a MEDIUM sized one and that my large will fit me like a medium?

Thanks in advance.

im sure you can add more padding to have a more snug fit.

some company's usually have 1 shell for all their small medium and large its jus the amount of padding stuffed inside.

Depends on the model. Shoei has some that have a removable liner, some that have replaceable cheek pads, and some that are not changeable.

Sometimes its more than the cheek padding and liner. I thought thats what i could do when I bought a medium Arai. I switched liners and Padding, and it was marginally better - i just assumed it was because it was newer. I just bought a small one instead. I'll compare the helmet size on the outside to see if the shell itself is smaller. Good luck!
