helmet lift
ok so i have an hjc CL-15. I am sure that the size is correct because i tried a few different helmet sizes. however when i get to speeds 65-70+ mph the helmet starts to lift on my head and the chin strap tugs underneath my chin. its extremely annoying, even on short rides. any recommendations on a helmet that wont have this uplift problem???

I've seen things like this http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productde...=6373&iorb=4764 but I have no idea if they work.
If you feel the lift tugging only at the chin strap then your helmet is not sized correctly. Are your cheek pads snug? They should feel tight on your face and you should feel the upward pull there as well. You might be able to change them for larger pads (I don't know the CL-15).

Rule of thumb:
If the helmet is a little too tight when new, it will loosen up to fit correctly. If it fits good to begin with, it will loosen up to become to loose. And sometimes new riders think a proper fitting helmet is too tight because they aren't use to wearing one.

Sounds like your head is too small.
Seriously, the helmet is too big for you. "Proper fit means that it is snug enough that your skin moves with it when you try to move the helmet on your head."

Agree with all above. If you're getting enough lift that the helmet is pulling up on the chinstrap, then either a) your helmet is too big, or b) your chinstrap isn't tight enough when you put it on. And most likely it's a, since b still shouldn't happen at that slow of speed.

Consider investing on a new helmet. Initially when trying on a new helmet, comfort should not be an issue if it's too tight because it will eventually loosen up.

Helmet is too big for sure. I have the same problem.
I thought I was a large, as did the sales folks, but the Arai rep set me straight on a Medium. I would highly recommend going to the Int'l Moto show or somewhere a helmet rep. will be. They have broken in helmets, and it's a world of difference compared to trying on brand new ones IMO. Swapping liners and cheekpads is pretty cheap, so no worries.

Helmet is too big, end of story.
The helmet should fit so snug that if it was any more snug it would give you a head ache. Some helmets also fit particular skull shapes better. This is why higher end brands develop different shaped shells for different individuals. In some cases, even the correct size will not fit correctly if it's the wrong shape.
