it's amusing everyone & their grandma loves to b1tch about rising gas prices, but fail to realize that it's not just gas, but *everything* that's going up in price when oil price goes up

We have an explorer and odyssey. We get tons of use out of them hauling kids, big dog, costco loads (I moved 300 lBS of rock salt yesterday.) the gas mileage sucks, but its what is required.
its been a few years so peeps have forgotten how efficient space can be used. in a 5th gen civic hatchy me and the wife went to the veterinary with 3 irish setters. on the way back we picked up a months supply dry dog food. while the car was maxed out everyone was comfortable enough.

americans are soooo stupid:
even 2-3 years ago, given the mid east instability, did you think gas prices (and thus everything else) would not inflate? if you drive a land boat it only shows you hung out with stupid to long.

my bitch
everything is in a cycle so mid east instability will resolve, gas prices will go down in relation to the cost of living that you will see the large vehicles again.
-no one is willing to throw the investment seed to come up with any functional technology so we have hybrids. create the economic incentive for this to happen.
-we need to tax family cars maybe trucks >1500lbs
-anyone 30lbs overweight doesnt get health insurance.

Or we make enough money where gas cost isn't a material part of our monthly budget.

I was planning on a Sierra or Yukon Denali, but I recently found out you can now get the 6.2L motor/six-speed auto in the Tahoe LTZ. Guess what my next daily driver is going to be?

I prefer the comfort and utility afforded me by a full-size SUV. Ironically, it will probably only get a few mpg less than my IS300 and not require premium fuel.

I guess you're not American if you think Americans are "soooo stupid?"

People somehow think they "deserve" to have everything they want.

I would like these people to go volunteer in a 3rd world country and see kids that can't afford food and basic vaccinations. "Deserve" has nothing to do with it. I know it sucks to feel like a "have not" but sometimes that's reality.

There's that expression about the eyes being bigger than the stomach.
That's a perfect analogy. Unfortunately because of idiots like these, there's a great many people who did everything right and are now getting screwed by a crashing economy due to the one-two punch of the sub-prime collapse as sky rocketing fuel costs.

We went to visit baby daughter in Norway last August. Regular gas was about 11 Kroner per litre. Do the math. That converts to about $7.50 per gallon. Do you really expect the rest of the world to feel sorry for us at $3.50 or $4.00 per gallon.

I just filled up the S. Had about 4 or 5 bars left. Cost me $38 bucks. Really not a big deal. People act as though gas was just 99cents per gallon last month. If they were ok paying $50 to gas their rig last year, is an extra $15 every week really going to kill them? If so, maybe they ought to consider public transportation. 5 years from now, $4.00 for a gallon of gas will seems like a bargain.

My 1997 cr-v automatic got better gas mileage then the s2k and ran on 87.

Why can't people just buy those?

Why do people with no money, buy new aveos? If you dont have money for a nice car, you dont have money for a new car.

Its an endless series of questions like this that can be asked. In the end, just be happy with yourself. You're the only stupid person you can control.
