I'm wondering because I really think these hybrid power plants are going to be the wave of the future. I know it would be a lot of money for not much gain, but I wonder what would happen if you put a big-arse electric motor and tweaked out that little four banger. electric motors have instant torque, so if you could somehow get it to crank out double or triple the power and not kill the batteries, I wonder if the car would actually accelerate pretty good...

Any ideas? I know Honda has the dualnote which is a 300+hp hybrid sports car...

My mom has a Prius, cool little car gets 50mpg. It has a display that tells you what your MPG is as you are driving. but not exactly the car to buy if you want to go fast at all. Plus if you voided your warrantee and something went wrong with that sucker, you might be in for a hefty bill.
