doubtful. If i'm buying a used car I want to have driven it before I put down any cash. Besides, I'm a devout E-bay-hater. I got ripped off by a seller with a 99.8 % feedback rating. I'm sure there are some decent people on the site, but i'm off it forever. First purchase, too.

I have sold 3 cars on ebay...
1. 1994 Acura Legend, the guy actually flew in from California and drove it home, got a great price for it.
2. 1997 Infiniti J30 - still got a good price, this guy flew in from Idaho and drove it home
3. 1985 BMW 535i - this guy drove in from outside Philly to check it out and I later delivered it to him, sold for just a couple hundred cheaper than expected.
Basically ebay is a great way to sell your car fast if you don't want to do a dealer trade-in where you get a really crappy price. I would say that you won't get as much as selling it pirvately through the local paper, etc. but you do get more than a dealer trade...and you can sell in less than a week. I would certainly sell on ebay again, just make sure your bidder has good feedback so you can trust them to pull through on the deal.

eBay's become one of the most popular places for selling used cars. I personally use eBay all the time; although I've never bought or sold a car through the service, I don't see why people think the level of risk is any different than buying any other out-of-town used car, or selling to any out-of-town buyer. You should still do all the standard checks and take the standard precautions; there's no inherent flaw in the eBay system which makes it vulnerable to scam artists.
I say go for it. I would have no hesitation about buying or selling a car on eBay.

for once I will agee with pedal faster.
I bought a 1974 v8 914 porsche on ebay. the seller was a good guy. I had a local guy (to the seller) check out the car and then sent the $. The car arrived via carrier 1 week later in perfect shape.
I don't think ebay is a particularily great place to sell something to get top $ unless it is something "hot" (like a H2 hummer when they fist came out, etc....).
Usually S2000's that sell on ebay sell for a decent amount less than what others are asking.
I would imagine a Civic (common car - sorry) not doing very well on ebay for you.....
