All I tried to do was convince them that the s2000 does have some balls despite it's lack of torque. But these braindead retards just keep saying "No torque! The 350z rules!"
I mean the guy is going as far as saying an Audi TT > S2000! Of course that is opinion, but wow.
And since when did 350z's run mid to low 13's?

Yeah the responses from that forum seem rather crude and uneducated.
However, the newest 350z's with the VQ35HR motors (306 hp, 7500 rpm redline) run around 13.6 to 13.3 in the quarter - pretty quick.

Not sure about dollar for dollar but stock for stock the Z is just always gonna be the faster car in a straight line. The longer a drag race would go the more the aerodynamics and higher output matter. Maybe these are the same reasons as to why the S feels more manuverable at low speeds?
I traded away my S because the STi rocked my ass hard but once I drove the 04, 06, and 07s I knew the s2k was the better buy. 350Z is easier to live with day to day and may be quicker but just isn't a dynamic car like the s2k or EVO/STi. EVO/STi are dynamic in their own right by kicking butt anyplace anytime but in any test drive I never had half the fun I was having in the s2k. I misunderstood my S and really miss how balanced it was. I haven't driven too many sports cars but I haven't driven a car that was 100% balanced in its own acceleration/braking/cornering. Everything is right in the s2k.
350Z was just a flawed car to begin with. The reason why it will have a $30k+ base price for the next gen is because Nissan sold themseslves short with this design. That's why almost every single year had a recall and people are still blowing M/Ts left and right. Not to mention the few that have lemoned their cars. You're pretty much safer buying a A/T Z because you never know what you will get with a M/T. I've read about 2 different tranny swaps before 30,000 miles. Back in 1990 you couldn't get a TT Z for less than $32k so I highly doubt the next gen will have as many kinks.

I read that discussion and just wow...
Those are some hard headed people. Stock for Stock, the S would spank the Tuscani/Tiburon back to Korea. The guy even said he was scared to take it to 9000 rpm, which prob. means that he wasn't even pushing the car to what it really can do.
They seem to insult people who drive Honda's, but they seem to realize what they are driving.. a Hyundai. Here in Korea where I live, I've seen many modded Tuscanis, Elantra's, Sonatas, etc... And most of them are pretty slow, even the turbo'ed ones. Besides the Hyundai Genesis, I dont think that Hyundai has made one good car. Their SUV's are pretty good though.
