This car delivers so I guess the only test left is longterm reliabilty test. But so far this car has shutup ALL the doubters and has jump through all the hoops thrown at it!
Where are all the Sh%%$ talkers now? Hopefully giving credit where credit is due.
DAMN, I wish Honda would get off their ass already. I hope what ever they are brewing is worth the wait.

how is this car possible? that's similar to GT2 times ( )
We know how the Z06 is possible, ie economies of scale using parts from a car that sells 40K units a year, being able to make a cheap 500hp engine. So can see how it's easily possible to take a $46K base car and make it a $66K much more powerful car.
But the GTR seems to be the kind of lower volume car (like a 911 turbo) that would seem to be harder to make (similar to) Enzo-like 0-100 times for 1/3 the cost of a GT2 or half the cost of the turbo.
Plus it's daily useable and has a barck seat. The main complaint is it weighs 3800 lbs but that's less of a complaint when M3s and IS-F etc. weigh 3600+

I have officially lost faith in the new M3 CSL pounding the GTR. BMW would have to drop that TTV8 from the X6 in the car and equip it with their new AWD for it to be a fair fight....and we know that wont happen..haha
The world bows to Nissan...for now.

Maybe this car was a ringer...i mean it was the Japanese spec.
But I'm actually very pleased that Edmunds went and tested a privately owned vehicle. This is a car that Nissan actually already sold to the public, not some prepped up for magazine ringer.
Also the car only had 1500km, which is about 930 miles. I think the owner was a bit stupid to let some magazines thrash his not broken in car, but as a journalist he probably figured being the first GTR to be timed was worth it.
In any case if the VR38 is anything like the VQ engines, the GTR is far from being broken in. Also Edmunds tends to post more conservative times than mainstream magazines, the best they could get from the Z06 was a trap speed of 121.8 mph and the best trap they got from the 911 turbo was 118.5mph.
