You mean to tell me, all over the net, no one has a pic of a real prototype as of now? Hmm!

Actually now that I think of it, this site is a fake.
1. Nissan markets cars FIRST to Japan.
2. It probably won't market a car under Nissan in the USA due to the fact that it would cost double of any other Nissan branded car.
3. Site GTRPROTO.com isn't even owned by Nissan.
4. Nissanusa.com & nissan-global.com doesn't even mention anything about any prototypes.
I did manage to find this picture though from Nissan itself, but it is from 2002.

"I dont see them selling a $70k car with a nissan badge though"
Why not? GM has the Z06 ($65-70k), Dodge has the Viper ($80k), and Ford has the GT ($150k). Why can't Nissan have a $60-70k sports car with the GTR (Skyline) badge? Not like this is a new model.

The site is very real.
1. Usually its the case, but Nissan's executives has already confirmed that the next generation GT-R will be a global vehicle and yes, it will be coming to the US in 2007 or 2008.
2. It will most likely be branded under Infiniti.
4. nissanusa.com probably won't mention anything until the final production model is revealed in the 2007 Toyko Motor Show, still 2 years away.

Why would an infiniti branded car be talked about on the nissanusa website?

VQs are solid engines.

Remember that the VQ motor wasn't made for forced induction, but as a NA motor I think it can take a good amount of abuse . With that said, the rods in that motor are definately the weak point when it comes to FI. If you want a FI 350Z then you have to build your bottom end, but every person I know with a Z beats the piss out of it in its NA state and they all seem to hold up good from what i've seen.
BTW, I thought that website was fake when I first saw it, but I guess not.
