you know that sucker is going to cost 80k, will it be better than the c6 z06?
What I mean is, already we have 911S, Cayman S, and future M3, AM V8, NSX etc.. that cost same or more than the Z06 that are not faster in any way shape or form. Yet they'll sell a lot more units than the Z06. meaning people buy different cars for different reasons.
I'd assume a GT-R will be a better all-weather car than a Z06 in the way a 911 4S or tt are better all-weather cars than the GT3. Some people may prefer a slightly slower car seeing that 450hp (?) awd will still get-er done.
Think of a more advanced lighter weight (hopefully) 3000GT-VR4-type of car. Whats not to like about that?

i think Nissan would be smart to build a C5 competitor (~$45-$50K).......nothing too crazy. VQ 3.5l TT pushing 400-450hp, get the weight somewhere around 3400lbs (reasonable for AWD)...of course make sure engine is bulletproof with lots of mod potential like the RB . I hope they don't try and build something to compete with the 997's (in price)....hard to imagine people cross shopping nissans with porsches.

I know nothing about the old GTR at all, but did they ever come in 4 doors? I think that would be more useful, but if it's a 2 seater, weighs a bunch, has some fancy AWD, and costs above 70k...I'm out.
If it's a lightweight performer and comes with only 2 seats that is fine. I just don't want some heavy 2 seater with a bunch of wizz bang gizmos.

I wouldn't put anything past Nissan right now. They have really made a comback for a company that was nearing bamkruptcy. They are even making deals having Toyota provide some of the mechanicals in the upcoming nissan hybrids. I wouldnt be surprised if the Nissan GT has more than 400hp for around the same price as a C6 vette. I dont see them selling a $70k car with a nissan badge though--an Infiniti spin-off with more power and luxury items maybe, but I hope they dont dilute the uniqueness of the product like that.
