GSR and S2000 vs. SL500
My friend and I had just seen 2 Fast 2 Furious(very comical), and we were on our way home. We sat at the world's longest light near Universal Studios in Orlando. The left turn lane is two lanes wide. My friend in his '99 GSR is in the right lane, and I in my '02 S2000 am on the left. As the light changes, we begin to drive normally across the large sweeping left onto Kirkman Road. When we were about halfway through the turn, I see a white, new body style SL500. He was facing toward us and was making a right toward our direction. He sees us and spins his tires while making a right. He proceeds to cut me off in the left lane for some reason. I guess the guy has enough money to buy a new car if he crashes this one. I break in 1st gear. What the guy doesn't know is that the little GSR is packing an ITR long block with a GSR head and a whole lot of tuning. By the way my friend has a bad clutch that is due to be replaced tomorrow.
Since the SL is in my lane I obviously can't pass him(and probably couldn't have anyway). My friend proceeds to destroy this meathead in an SL. I just thought it was funny seeing a white $15,000 GSR destroy an $115,000 SL. Of course my radar dectector start going off about halfway through second. Me being the smart one let off, and watched these two other cars blasting down the street at about a hundred. I did start to pull on the SL, which makes sense, being an S2000 is a little faster after the initial launch before I let off.
We have way to much respect for cars of that caliper to roll up on and start a fight. And believe me I would much rather have an SL500 than an S2000 or GSR any day. But this dumbass brought it upon himself. Just thought it was kind of a funny story.
