that's great but it's more a statement of being driven 85K miles a year.

there are cars with 2 million miles and more miles.

Not saying anything bad, but 99% of cars don't last that many miles because they are not driven that much per year. typical 12K miles per year would take 83 years to get 1M miles. 20K miles a year would take 50 years.

One key is this is not a private vehicle, I imagine some many delivery vehicles could get that many miles but few private owned cars since pwople usually don't drive that much.

I would LOL if a new GM couldn't last as long as this old one

Eh whatever. There was an MK2 VW Golf at a show many years ago, with the odometer displaying 200k miles (or maybe it was 400k?, but I think 200). The thing is, the odo only reads to 999,999, and it had already rolled over. 1.2 million miles on the stock block & head.

No matter how you slice it, that is a lot of hours in the saddle! (694 24-hour days at 60 MPH)

Other than a noise temp sensor fan for auto climate control (replaced under warranty), my Avalanche has been flawlessly reliable - no worse than my Honda experience. I have no reason not to believe it will last as long as I want to keep driving it, and well beyond.
