Got my new wheels on my Solstice *pics*
So I finally managed to get my new wheels mounted today. I bought them back in November for $800 [at that time, they were $425 a peice new on Tirerack] slightly used [new in box, never driven on]. They are SSR Type-C RS in gunmetal in 18x8, and only weigh 18.4lbs each. Using the oem tires that came with the car, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS2 in 245/45/18. Tell me what you think.

Gutsy posting a solstice on an s2000 forum.
Looks great man, correct me if I'm wrong, looks like a gxp, only saw a small bit of the foglight area.
Love the lnf powered kappas.

I have balls, I posted pics on the Miata forum as well, lol.
There are two easy ways to tell a GXP from a base model [mine is a GXP btw]. The GXP's have dual outlet exhaust and black front grills with brake duct grills around the foglights. The base model has a single outlet exhaust and gray grills with no brake duct grills.

Wow, that's an awful lot of sidewall for an 18" wheel/tire combo.
I think it would look better with a drop, but don't think the aggressive (read: dark) character of the wheel goes well with the car and all its brightwork (windshield hoop, door handles, etc.) It's like wearing cleats with a dress watch.
for going with forged aluminum though. What do the folks on the Solstice forums think?

The Solstice/Sky forums like the wheels. The SSR was the first true performance wheel available for the Solstice, with OZ wheels being second. The only thing with the Solstice is the selection of wheels available. Unlike the S2000 which has hundreds of wheels to choose from, we're limited in our selection.
Here's a car with OZ Ultralaggera wheels
