Got to drive a CTS-V today...
Well I stopped into a local Caddy dealer and drover a CTS-V today. The latest comparison of the S4 vs. M3 vs. CTS-V intrigued me a bit and I love torque. I'll preface this by saying I have some seat time in an automatic CTS.
I think the CTS-V is a remarkable bang for your buck sports sedan. While neither the fit and finish nor the interior are quite on par with my M3 it is very nicely done. The stereo was superior to my car and the seats were more comfortable and more adjustable but offered less bolstering than they should have. My M3 seats are the 'standard' Premium Package seats so they do no have width or bolstering adjustments. The Caddy feels fast...it seems to have abundant power just about everywhere but the notorious wheel hop issue was ALOT worse than I expected. It is worse than it was in my 03 Cobra and really NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED. The shifter was a bit clunky for my tastes but no worse than the shifter in my M3. As I said, power was good and felt even better due to it's monstrous torque. I believe it is on par 1/4 mi. with the M3 but will suffer out of the hole because of the HORRIBLE WHEEL HOP. The true highs of this car are it's handling braking. It does both surprisingly well, again not on par with the M3 but it's a great first go. I'm guessing it will be LS2 equipped in the next couple of years and worth another look. I would advise any 'car guy' to go check one out I can't wait to see what Cadillac's next V series will be.

Well, at least it is more unique than the M3. I am soo sick of seeing those things around. In my area, there are more M3s than 330s.. Its crazy. And none of these guys know how to drive them...

I was driving a company car for a few days back in July. Quite a monster. Scary acceleration in almost any gear at any speed, it just goes and goes. Very willing to hang the tail out with the traction control off. My face looked like this every time I climbed out of the car-->

CTS-V, isn't very appealing to me!
M3 > S4 > CTS-V
