If it's not cheap, I think it will only sell to a fringe group of environmentalists who live in a city and have disposable money.
I would consider something like this for the right price if it is somehow fun to drive. I realize it's not a rocket and won't have sports-car driving dynamics, but some cars are just fun to drive, like old VW buses. If the top was removeable, that might help me be interested.

This thing looks pretty cool, but I wouldn't be able to have a car like this as my only vehicle. What if I need to haul something? My weekly grocery trip might be too much for this car.

Not sure why the storage capacity is such a wide range but the lowest number, 190 liters, is still about 30% more than a Goldwing's top case & bags combined. It really depends on how it is laid out whether it'd suffice for a Costco run or not.
