If you're considering an IS, while at the dealership, it's also worth checking out the RC.

in my opinion ILX is terrible. For that just get a Civic Si Sedan. If you want something a little more up scale (depending on your price range) new TLX is nice. 2010-2014 TSX is nice too if you can find one in 6spd. others to consider:

Honda Accord v6 (new model)
Nissan Maxima
Subaru Legacy
New WRX

I'm a Kia technician. The Optimas are great cars. Pick up a 15 SX (2.4 or turbo) while they're still out. The 16s are getting a power cut. Overall the cars are made quite well and they're full of features. We have some issues with engine mechanical failure but there's a 10yr/100k warranty for that. This is an honest opinion, I was considering getting one before I found an STi I liked.

My wife's Legacy 3.6R is surprisingly agile and accelerating. It's her first non-Honda in 20 years! Impresses me every time I drive it. The 6-cylinder engine is key here. Add subtle styling and the EyeSight system and it's the 4-door I'd drive too in this price range. Not sure how the CVT version is, her's is a year old and has a conventional 5-speed auto.

I would not buy a ILX. I think it is a fail for Acura but who am I to judge.

2010-14 TSX is nice and made in Japan. I really like the TLX too, not too big nor small, but I don't like the new interior. It seems cheap.

Why do you care if a car was made in Asia? Most mainstream Asian cars are made in the US anyway.

I feel like the obvious choice here is a WRX Limited.
