Forget about jumping on the "GM SUCKS" bandwagon...

Where can I get on the "laid-off GM EMPLOYEE still making 6-figures" bandwagon?

um, I don't think the article mentioned every educational opportunity offered by the banks. The WSJ article clearly wasn't about the Job Banks and what they are, it was sensationalist "journalism." Far be it for you to learn a little more about an issue before passing judgement
You're a knucklehead, I've seen your posts on this forum and they tend to be more "sensationalist" than the WSJ piece. You love stoking up the flames don't you?

I don't care what other educational oppt's they have their, btw are you privy to that information? I doubt it. The simple fact that CROSSWORD PUZZLE "THEORY", BlackJack Mastery, etc are offered at all for a UAW member is an abomination.

Yet a lot of ignorant people in this boards claim otherwise about GM. Does the truth needs to be a rig to hit them on the face so they can feel it, not just see it? Amazed.

The job banks were a reasonable idea that got out of control. Much like offering healthcare and pensions it wasn't a bad idea at the time.
The problem was how do you encourage people to improve efficiency if they think it will result in the elimination of their job? GM and/or the big-3 promised they would not lay these people off as a way to encourage improvements in efficiency. These furloughed workers would then be put back to work as more labor was needed.
But GM

I've seen your posts as well. You take the short excerpt of one article, and make statements as if that is all there is to the story. Hardly an example of intelligent commentary. In fact, if you had bothered to read any of the articles posted, the "Blackjack Mastery" class was a training class for casino workers. But then, reading and comprehending prior to posting is hardly commonplace around here, right?

I could care less about some fluff class offered to an unemployed union worker. I think I'll reserve use of the word "abomination" for things that are, I don't know, perhaps a big deal? What difference does it make if union dues and GM contributions pay for laid of workers to play bridge or bet on horses? It is a problem for them, they need to deal with it, and I feel no self-righteous outrage over any of it.
