I think it's a good call for Saturn. Shows they believe their products are just as good. Doesn't mean they ARE just as good, but at least they show some pride in their products and are willing to let people make the comparison.
At the very least, it should provide a kick in the pants for GM if they start losing sales; their dealers will be more able to pinpoint WHY.

Or they could make the Accords/Camrys literally LOOK bad. Don't wash them, never vacuum out the interior, maybe key up the paint a little. You'd be surprised how little tiny things like that can blow a deal.
Unethical dealers (relatively speaking) could use regular gas if the cars require premium (should make them run a little rougher), pull spark plugs to disable a cylinder or two, take out fuses, etc. Anything to make the competition look bad.
Of course, if it comes to this, I guess GM's plan would be a failure.
I just wouldn't trust ANY dealer to properly represent the competition.

To GM's respect, the Aura did get really good reviews but really bad sales. Fact is, most people are gonna buy Accords and Camrys anyways, so this stunt isn't gonna make things worse, since their cars already are selling very badly.
But, IMO, it may be dishonest, because they can buy a non-fully loaded Accord or Camry and compare it to their fully loaded Auras.

Cliff notes: GM dealers will have Camry and Accord models for shoppers to compare on premises to the equivalent GM vehicles.
Does anyone else see this backfiring for GM?
