GM cancels future RWD vehicles

so what? My point is that if Honda or Toyota was selling them, you'd go on about how stupid GM was for not even investing in the technology. But because GM is doing something with E85, you find a reason to be critical.
They provide the option. If the buyer doesn't exercise that option, the buyer is simply taking advantage of the fact that they have the choice. As E85 becomes more common, and as the economics change, the number of people using E85 will change. Whether that number will go up or down remains to be seen, but it is no different than the current hybrid drivetrains - it may or may not become a lasting change. Time will tell which technologies become more popular, and which fall out of favor.
Seems pretty stupid to say you don't think CAFE is a worthwhile effort, then criticize a company for doing something that you see as a way around CAFE. Did you ever consider that the reason flexfuel vehicles get special consideration is because the whole reason behind CAFE is to spur development of new tech, not a set of guidelines for the sake of guidelines?

What's wrong with E85? It's super high octane. Cars just aren't made to exploit it. Evos that have been tuned for it make a ton more HP then on 91,92,93 or 100+ octane. The bad gas mileage sucks though. It runs cool too. It makes for good track day fuel if you are tuned for it and can find the shit. Check this out:

Once they perfect this it will be cheap and plentiful. Ethanol seems like a really good long term strategy IMO.

Second, you assume I am being critical of the technology. I am not. Someone referred to e85 being a loophole, you asked how/why, and I clarified. You are assuming I am expressing an opinion about it one way or another. I'm not. I'm merely clarifying how SOME believe it's a loophole.
