give me reasons to buy s2k & not a viper?

Lol, well, if this parents are rich enough to just "give" him $50k for a score that will get him on the waiting list of an ivy league school, he doesn't have to be bothered with saving and earning interest. By the sounds of it, theres only 2 options, he cheated on the SAT's or has no car knowledge whatsoever. Lets see, likes horsepower, well the 240 the S puts out will never compare to the 400 plus of the viper, so why even bother with the comparison. If you do in fact own an S, take him for a ride, but i doubt it will convine him. Maybe he should take his "smarts" and do some research, cause if he did hed know that viper does not have traction control. SO lets do some simple math, 400hp+rare car (that everybody turns to see)+no traction control+teenager=......an unfortunate accident in which an avergae kid succumbing to the ohhs and ahhs of his peers does what would be a small burnout or doughnut or even just a quick punch of throttle, but unlike the kiddies with normal cars, he loses control and kills friends. Unfortuantly, I did not make that story up. Mike

I owned a '94 Viper Rt/10. My impression: piece of shit american clown shoe on wheels. But my God was it fun to drive and stare at it's steam roller tires, smoke them at stop lights and the attention was phenominal. I sold it and bought a Lightning (loved it), then another S2000. I love my stook and have a comptech supercharger on order. I simply love the clean design. The new Viper (2003) is an S2000 on steroids designed by a nice asian gentleman for Dodge.
As for "rich parents", "he doesn't deserve it", "must be nice" etc. Who really cares? Judge not lest ye be judged and we have no idea who this "kid" really is and how he leads his life. I've earned most of the money I've ever seen. Some of it was luck. My motto: I don't envy the rich, I don't pity poor. I'm happy with me and I'm glad he's smart and has the opportunity to own a cool car of his choice.
That's my two cents worth. Probably more but I'm verbose.
