Too many choices nowaday huh......I would go for anyone of the these four: GTI, MX-5, Si, or Fit Sport.

LOL, I hate to be blunt, but I agree.

I just fit in an S, and I'm 6', 160 lbs. Now I'm sure I could weigh some more and still fit fine. But if you're 290, I'm thinking it won't be a comfortable fit for you.

I would also suggest a GTI.
