Default Getting out of S2k for sedan of some sort....

Basically I am looking to cut expenses alittle bit and getting out of the S2k is a great way. Insurance is through the roof for it, the payment is alot, its impractical and I dont have time to enjoy the "sport" part of "sportscar"! I commute with it! Thats it!...

So anyhow... Looking for a decently fast sedan, fun as possible to drive (for a sedan), that is reliable and preferably AWD.

I have been looking at FWD sedans and thinking of getting a 4wd SUV beater to go with.

Budget is $16-17K for an AWD, fun fast sedan. Used is fine.

Budget for FWD sedan stands at maybe $14k mark... depends on the winter capabilities!

What say you?

I have thought about:

03-06 WRX

05 up Legacy GT

G35 - AWD in a manual?

Acura TSX with beater vehicle for winter

Acura RSX with beater for winter

Cant think of much else right now.

I really dont want to do FWD, but I will if I come across something sporty/luxury enough.

BTW - They MUST be a manual. MUST.

Getting too high in the mileage on either STi or Evo to be comfortable with a payment on it. Were talking 70K miles or more.

I worry about the WRX, STi, Evo sorts because alot of AWD stepside clutch drops could have happened in the miles on a used one... I get nervous even thinking about a WRX of any year with 20k miles on it...

What about a MazdaSpeed 6? Link

Can be found for $14-17k, AWD, 270 HP, Comfortable, Quite, Roomy. If I had to get a sedan, this would probably be it.

That is what I am coming up with too... Subaru, turbo, AWD.

Legacy GTs appeal bc they are FAR less likely to be beat on than a WRX. Probably cheaper on insurance too.

However, finding a GT in a manual is few and far between it seems!
