haha!! I raced once.
The guy had single Turbo conversion with T88 Turbo (Im not sure)
When he raved up his engine, I only heard his turbo, not the engine.

Please give a report on how you felt, strengths, differences from your S2k.

I'm a previous owner of an RX-7 ('93) and I'm interested in buying an S2k.

It seems difficult to get a non-biased opinion, so any comments would be greatly appreciated.

omg! that car rocked!!!

both rx- 7 and s2000 are fast cars- but with different characteristics of "being fast."
when you wanna make s2000 fast, you need to put some effort to it-
i liked the fact that you can make the car go fast much easier than s2000.
this car was sooo light- almost too light... and with 300 + tt engine, this car just goes and goes and goes.

i was surprised how quiet it was at high speed-
but maybe that's because my car is a convertible, with spoon exhaust.
however, even though my s2000 is a lot louder and noisier, i have to say that s2000 still feels more solid compared to rx- 7 at high speed.
it also had stock supension, and it was way too soft... made me feel like the car was floating...
soft suspension plus the lightness of the car was making me a little nervous.

fit and finish quality is pretty impressive too- even if it's an 8 year old car.
i love my s2000's fit and finish, but i wonder if it's going to be the same after 8 years.
i dunno about the plastic door latch parts tho.

overall, it was an extremely fun "rocket."
i still like my s2000 more, but just because it's newer and slightly more fun (being convertible, fun engine, more solid car).
but if i had some money to buy an rx- 7 plus all the mods, hey, i would definitely go for it.

so, let wait till my friend put some more $$ to it, get single turbo conversion with lotsa, lotsa boost. heh heh heh...

Oh, boy, I really have to try an S2k now.

The seven, when I had it I thought felt really solid at high speeds. That's two comments that I've seen that owners of S2k, feel their cars are very solid. I guess I find it hard to believe, but I will need to experience one for myself.

I'm probably about 3 or 4 months away from investing in any $$, but I can't get it out of my mind. I'd like to buy both cars.

Oh well, it looks like I will be making a trip to las vegas. I don't think a 10 or 15 minute test drive will be enough, so I found a place in Vegas where I can rent an S2k for a whole day for $169.

Thanks for your comments.

oh, renting is way to go.
drive it like you hate it, and you will find what it's all about.

yeah, i LOVE both cars. i'd love to have both cars.

... by the way... i've heard that rx- 7 used be the best handling car ever (as stocks) produced in japan.
i could see why people say that, but one that i was in, i guess the suspension was really tired.

From what I remember the car had incredible handling charasteristics and real confidence in cornering and high speed. But we are talking about an 8 or 7 year old car? Perhaps suspension is not as tight as it should be.

Also do you know what year it was? I know after '93 they lightened the suspension, because people complained.

How is the S2k in stiffness? I like it firm, but not punishing. I know some people lower their RX-7's but it was about just right for me.

stock s2000's suspension is incredible-
than you can make it even better with x- brace, mugen braces...

lot of people actually complain about worsen feeling/ performance after they go for expensive aftermarket springs.

The S2000 is the most solid convertible I have been in...I sometimes forget that it is a convertible...
