The General doesnt mess with his vette
"However, it is important for the Corvette to be the most powerful, most capable, best-handling car in the United States" - Bob Lutz, GM

This confirms that its real, and boy is it coming. You gotta give it to GM though. Interior aside, they have been consistent for over 40yrs. If the Z06 does 60 in 3.7, this bad boy should be scary.
And thus the war continues!

So if DC upped the Viper's power again, then what? GM would also up the power, and it keeps going and going. At one point, I think enough power is enough. Frankly, I think there should be an international power cap, which should be set at 500 hp. That's enough power, even for a Veyron.

That's why they call them HP wars.
I got to meet Dave Hill at the ALMS race at Road America this year, and with a wink and a nod he confirmed the "Blue Devil" too. I believe him.

For when the Z06 or Viper doesn't extend your penis far enough...
Too bad most of the people who buy these cars don't have anywhere near the skill to tap much of their performance capabilities.

Pissing match. Only in America.
That's all we need, more power to a car that 90% of us can't even drive properly. I'm just waiting for Dodge to boast that the Viper interior is up to European standards (and be real about it too) so that way Chevy could finally put in a nicer interior; id still buy a vette though.

I agree 100%. there should be a power cap.
Too much is ALMOST enough.
If some is good, then more is ALWAYS better.
I want a factory warranty on a car with 10,000HP. And the minute I get it, I want to mod it to make MORE POWER!
What if they said "Enough" at 16 sec cars from the 60s? We wouldn't have the S2000 for one.
I repeat:
MORE POWER!

The HP wars are great, let them run with it. I still say the C6 needs a better interior.
