G-TECH PRO
I'm consitering purchasing a G-TECH PRO( http://www.gtechpro.com/ ) and I'm wondering if it actually does all of the things it says. Is it worth the $250+ price tag? Most importantly, is it accurate? If you have one or know someone who has one, PLMK. Any info. will help.
Thanks,
Aroggio

He he.....
Well...it "does" do what it claims it does....0-60 times, 1/4 mile, dyno etc.
My s2000 stock Dynoed at 457.67 horsepower and the 1/4 mile in 10.7seconds.
Although you "could" get them to be more accurate than that, its still not worth it...
I would say a MINIMAL error for all times would be AT LEAST a second, and this will give you info that isnt helpful. You know the s2k is 0-60 in like 5.5 or so, so if you get 6.7, it wont help you much huh? Second, s2k mods give you about 1-5hp gain, the G-TECH will NOT be able to detect that. So IMHO, waste of money.

I've had one for a few years. It is actually quite precise, but real-world conditions can interfere.
The unit measures acceleration. It won't give the same numbers as a dyno or drag strip, but it does accurately reflect acceleration rates over time. The hp numbers it generates are depended on the weight you enter, so if you use the same weight every time, you can document changes in acceleration through the seasons, or determine if a mod helped at all.
BTW, a GTech Pro is only ~$140, and I'd say the more expensive Competition model is probably worth the extra cash, based on what it is capable of doing.

I have a GTECH Pro and it's given me consistant 1/4 mile times of 14.0-14.2 seconds at 99-102mph and 0-60 times around 5.7 seconds. I'd say it's pretty accurate. It's not meant to be a tool for bragging rights. It can be used for tuning.
