But I couldn't agree more, I love the FRS/BRZ duo. They're fun cars

Then this guy will go on about how the FRS is junk and all that...

I don't think it's junk. I think they're cool. They just need more power.

You are correct. He'll blame the car, not the man in the mirror.

Thank goodness he didn't ruin a nice S2000.

There's a lot wrong with the OP so I'm not sure what's accurate and what's not.
First the FA20's maximum engine speed is 7400 rpm. There's no way to hit 7600 rpm unless you downshift at the wrong time.
Second, being 4 quarts low on oil is effectively the same as saying there's no oil at all.
Finally, if he "threw a rod" then there would be a hole in the block of the engine and it wouldn't run at all.

I could have said that, but rather than be misleading and saying he had no oil... I recalled what actually happened which was it took four entire quarts of oil to get to the full mark.
Not trying to make a fuss, but cmon.
Anyways, my friend took his car to the dealer and they are getting a corporate engineer to run some "chemical tests."
I'm sure he will fail these tests because he is running E85 as well...
Not sure if E85 would void warranties??

That's pretty crazy man, being that low on oil. And 200 rpm does make a difference. If Scion can find evidence of that engine speed, the warranty is gone - so yeah, 200 rpm makes a difference.

Yes running E85 will most certainly void the warranty. It says quite clearly in the owners manual not to run gasoline with anything higher than E10. I remember this from when I owned a BRZ.
Anyone here have any bad experiences with E85?
I'm sure the oil was 90% of the problem, but I'm curious as to how corrosive that stuff is

I've heard of people blowing motors because of letting e85 sit for too long.

with gears I cruise at 80mph at 4900rpm, but 4900 with a 9k valvetrain is not really much
