FR-S convertible coming in 2014
Things just got more interesting with this car: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...-rendered-news
Now about that turbo model...

This has been known for a while.
And I'd say its far from interesting, as the performance (especially acceleration) won't be done any favors by an extrao 150-200 lbs
If they're going to expend R&D capital to produce more than one model it should be on a HIGHER PERFORMANCE model. Not this crap.

The side rendergins actually look quite nice. Interesting, the article states the Scion FR-S will have no turbo models. Is that a way of letting us know Subaru will, without saying it?
I really can't wait for these cars to be out and on the road.

Should be a great looking vert. Slow, though - a Miata is going to kill this car as a vert...

Like everyone else said, it's just making a slow car slower. Rendering looks decent though.
Hopefully this will be successful enough to warrant development of newer generations, and get the attention of other automakers *cough honda*

from what i read on my car and driver mobile app, there wont be a turbo model from subaru for a while if ever. toyota has stated it wont make a sion turbo simply because it would cost too much. at the 30k+ price tag the turbo model would cost most people would then say "well for that much i could buy a (insert something else here)" you have to remember that a turbo model would probably only produce about 250hp from the factory, which wouldnt even put it in 370z territory. kinda disappointing, but the idea is to keep this car cheap and accessible.

I think the convertible contradicts the point of this car. This car is made to be fun, lightweight, and tracked. Becoming a convertible makes it heavier and not as easy to bring to the track without added expense.

I think I read somewhere that they built a turbo FR-S motor to put into the new Legacy or something like that. 295hp/295 ft lbs? My memory could be wrong but those are some pretty sweet numbers.
