Ford Posts Quarterly Loss of $284 Million, Its First Since 2003
Oct. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Ford Motor Co., the world's third- largest automaker, posted a $284 million quarterly loss, its first in almost two years as a lower sales of profitable sport- utility vehicles hurt its North American automotive business.
Ford's North American auto business reported a $1.2 billion pretax loss, the unit's fourth in the past five quarters. Its worldwide auto operations had a $1.3 billion pretax loss. U.S. sales of midsize and large SUVs fell as the average retail gasoline price rose to a record $3.06 a gallon in early September.

I can't drive by a ford dealership without seeing 40 Mustangs and 200 F-150s. I know the trucks are their best selling vehicles and have set some records but I think it is because of the numbers of F-150s that are made.

My bad! Damn that one hell of a loss. Way to many trucks and cobalts as well. I tried to buy an 06' Z06 but I was told the dealers around Texas allocation was spoken for, for at least 1 year. I hear there were some available in Dallas but the dealers were wanting about 10k over MSRP. No thanks! The dealers also treat you like your buying a cobalt even when you are offering to shell out 65+k for the Z06.
