This is a tough descision, but I voted for the GT. No doubt that I would be happy with the porchse (REALLY HAPPY), but at the same time the GT is new and fresh, while the porsche has been out for a while and is getting a little long in tooth (comparitiviey speaking of course).

The Ford GT is their flagship concept/soon-to-be produced sportscar right? Why the poll using GT2 for Porsche's flagship? Why not the Carrera GT which is Porsche's concept/soon-to-be-produced flagship sportscar?
Oh well, in this " Poll "
I voted for the Ford GT (Saw it taking a lap at Indianapolis w/Jackie Stewart before the USGP...SWEEET) but for my money I'd vote for this.

The Ford GT engine will have greater potential than the Cobra engine, while the GT is a significantly lighter car than the Mustang.

I don't know how the cobra got into this argument. Give me a stock GT2 and i will walk away from a cobra with any amount of power on a road course. The mustang is a straight line car.
Also there isn't much of a price differnece between the cars. New GT2s can be had for about 170 while slightly used can get down around/under 150. The GT has an expected msrp of 150 and will almost definitely demand a high premium for a while.
I am on the list for a GT so hopefully i will be able to give a head to head comparison in the not terribly distant future.

Except you could buy 4 Ford GTs for the price of one Porsche GT
