Can't deny how capable that Ford is. I still suspect they are turning up the boost and sending ringers to these magazine test, but frankly it doensn't matter because it basically is just that easy to get these numbers. As much as I love Porsches and Ferraris, I hope the Ford sets a new trend of affordable dream cars.

What scares me is some clown can walk into a Ford dealer plop down a 'relatively small' amount of money and get a car that can run over 130mph in the 1/4 mile. Sadly enough, I see quite a few fatalities with this car as grandpas are going to wheelchair in and buy one and the first time they punch the gas, they can't comprehend the amount of acceleration and blamo...

What is scarier? A few rich grandpas buyng $150,000 cars, or the 19 year old nascar fan down the street buying a Hayabusa who has never ridden a motorcycle before?

Why does this scare you though? No doubt that 130 mph is fast in the 1/4 mile, but $150,000 is a LOT of money. Motorcycles that trap 150+mph have been available to the public for yaers now and they can be bought by anyone who can flip a burger.

I love it, it's (The Ford GT) is the perfect car for rich politicans...
"Mr.Blank, you claim to be in touch with the common man yet you bought a car that costs more than many American's homes, what do you have to say about that?"
"It's made in America, I'm supporting the economy!"
I'd buy one if I had the dough.

3400lb cars can cause a lot more damage than a 400ish lb bike.
I'm just saying that incapable people buying ultra high performance vehicles and dying because they can't control them is nothing new. I would worry more about that drunk guy driving down the road on a saturday night than grandpa driving their cars down the freeway 10mph under the limit (think: most corvette owners) too scared to press the throttle down more than 1/10th of the way.
