Ford GT Spotted
Granted, I was in my wife's Moutaineer, but that thing is LOW!!!!
Getting out and standing next to it, it seemed like the roofline barely came to my belt (I'm 6'2"). It had Michigan plates, which made me wonder if it was one of the car mag guys (I know Automobile and C&D regularly pass through KY on extended drives). That probably isn't going to happen (extended mag review), so who knows. I can't see many Ford execs relocating to Louisville, and there weren't any big events going on in town.
It was red w/ white stripes, and looked simply outrageous. After changing underwear, I couldn't wait to tell my 13 year-old, who was really annoyed that he didn't get to drool over it too.
Looking at this, it reminded me of the car that Carroll Shelby supposedly built for Bill Cosby to convert him away from Ferraris. It was a twin-turbo 427 Cobra with an auto transmission (supposedly one of only 2 built). In describing it, Mr. Cosby said, "The speedometer goes from 50, to 100, to 150, to 200, and then has a little space after 200 that says, 'Oh Wow'. It also has a special plaque that says 'This car was built especially for Bill Cosby by Carroll Shelby, and is faster than anything Steve McQueen owns!'"
