it's amazing how marketing and perception work wonders on people. i work setting up autox events and it is constantly a trip watching porsche gt3, ferraris, etc get owned by short wheel base, light, nimble cars.
whatever, believe what u want. who the hell cares about the truth when you've already plopped down 50k plus for your "real sports car."

I've driven many of the lake roads including that one and as fun as they are, the surface and blind curves limit speed and make them a poor handling test. The Fit is a great little car but as said here they simply don't have the raw grip of a vette... On the tight, rough, blind, off-camber roads around Lake Travis a foolish Fit driver may well drive faster than everyone else.

When you are in a corner at above 30 mph it

I have driven a Fit, and it does handle well, but c'mon.
Lighter, sure, shorter wheelbase, sure, but look at the TIRES. Narrow hard tires (meant to last) vs WIDE sticky performance rubber?

A lot of the corners on that road are blind hairpins. I'm sure a fit could keep up with a sane driver of pretty much any sports car just because you're an idiot to go too fast on that road. I haven't lived in Austin in five years or so, but last time I was on that road, the development was getting worse and worse out there with a lot more traffic and police presence.
Here's a link to it. Follow it north: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geoc...033174&t=h&z=15
All the C6 would have to do is floor it on one straight and the fit would have no chance to catch up. They're fun cars, but they have almost no acceleration after 40 mph or so.
