Finally a turbo engine from Honda?
Just saw this on the Autoweek site:
I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression Honda had sort of a anti-turbo attitude. Is this a shift in policy for them.
2007 ACURA RDX
ON SALE: July
BASE PRICE: $30,000 (est.)
POWERTRAIN: 2.3-liter, 240-hp, 260-lb-ft turbocharged I4; awd, five-speed automatic
CURB WEIGHT: 3968 lbs
0 TO 60 MPH: 7.4 seconds (mfr.)
RDX is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged intercooled four-cylinder with i-VTEC. Since this engine will likely bolt easily into a lot of existing Hondas, it is sure to be a hit with tuners. The turbo features a variable flow design to keep power up at lower rpm.

Honda has sold turbo engines in cars dating back at least to the early 1980's, at least in Japan.
I think turbos will quickly become a fact of life for most automakers, especially with pressure to improve fuel economy and emissions.

Car and Driver magazine has posted their Acura RDX preview, and it's better than the Autoweek article:
